Hanna Brand scored Bishop Diego’s only goal in Saturday’s 4-1 loss at Channel Islands.
Brand scored in the 14th minute off a corner kick and tied the game at 1-1. Channel Islands added another before halftime, then two more in the second half.
“We had a few amazing passes through their defense, we just weren’t finishing,” said Cardinals assistant coach Gabby Escamilla.
It was Bishop Diego’s first game back from winter break.
Senior Jordan Price played her first game as goalkeeper because the Cardinals were missing several players and did a commendable job according to Escamilla.
Bishop Diego plays next on Tuesday versus Fillmore.
