GSoc: Bishop falls in first-place showdown with Seraphs

The Bishop Diego girls soccer team fell out of a first-place tie with St. Bonaventure in the Frontier League after dropping a 2-1 decision to the Seraphs on Tuesday.

“We struggled to connect on our passes,” Bishop coach Tessa Binkley said.

Gabby Koepenick got a touch on a shot by Hanna Brand to tie the score at 1-1 in the 28th minute.

St. Bonaventure scored the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 70th minute.

The loss drops Bishop Diego to 5-2 in league and 9-7-1 overall. St. Bonaventure is 6-1 in league play.

The Cardinals will host Santa Clara on their Senior Day on Thursday. Seven seniors will be recognized that day.
