Bishop Diego’s girls basketball team defeated visiting Carpinteria on Tuesday night 51-38 in a Frontier League game.

Greer Shull scored all 17 of her points in the second half to lead the Cardinals, who closed the third quarter with a 9-0 run that turned a one-point game into a double-digit lead for Bishop Diego. Jordyn Lilly added 14 points for the league-leading Cardinals.

Erin Saito’s 14 points led the Warriors, who fall to 1-2 in league play.

It was the first time since 2010 that it has been a league game between the two schools.
