BBK: Bad start costs Warriors

Carpinteria’s boys basketball team had a tough time getting things going on Wednesday night and dropped a 64-51 decision to Fillmore in a Frontier League game.

Warriors head coach Johnny Ward said his team lacked energy in the first quarter and a 17-5 deficit was the result. The Flashes led by as many as 23 in the game.

Duncan Gordon’s 13 points were a team-high for Carpinteria, which also got 12 from Marcus Hutchinson.
