Emily Allen broke a scoreless stalemate in the 75th minute on Tuesday to give San Marcos’ girls soccer team a 1-0 victory over visiting Oxnard.

Allen finished a play that began in the midfield with Caroline Vance. Freshman Olivia Jones took a pass from Vance out wide and created the scoring opportunity by getting the ball back to Allen in a good position to score.

“Our entire front line? that’s where we’re going to be dangerous this year,” said Royals head coach Macie Berlin.

The Royals are 1-0-1 to start the season.

Goalkeeper Hannah Harrah posted her first shut out of the season.

San Marcos will put its unbeaten record on the line this Friday at Moorpark.
