Martin Luther King bested San Marcos’ girls water polo team on Friday at the Villa Park Tournament by a score of 12-8.
The Royals were down 9-2 at halftime but came back to outscore MLK 6-3 in the second half.
“I was very encouraged by our never-give-up attitude tonight,” said Royals head coach Chuckie Roth.
San Marcos goalie Jenna Phreaner blocked nine shots. On offense, Halie Johnson and Riley Heiduk each scored three times while Hayley Gellert added two goals.
The Royals complete Villa Park Tournament competition on Saturday.
