San Marcos suffered a 43-31 girls basketball loss at Santa Paula on Monday night.
Hope Morrison scored 11 points, Lexi Zamora tallied nine and Roxy Sandoval added seven for the Royals (2-3).
“We played hard,” San Marcos coach Devin Uyesaka said. “We lost because we weren’t able to do all the little things. We compounded the little mistakes. We played Santa Paula close the entire game. We know what adjustments we need to make. We have one practice before the Gold Coast tournament on Wednesday. We’ll be sure to make some improvements for our next game.”
