Santa Barbara High shot 61 percent from the floor and got balanced scoring in beating Channel League rival Dos Pueblos 79-50 to win the Lompoc Girls Basketball Tournament on Saturday.
Melissa Lemus scored 15 points and dished out 11 assists to lead the balanced Dons attack. Ivette Gil was the top scorer with 20 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, Dessy Coleman scored 12 points and Amber Melgoza and Jada Howard each tallied 10 points. Howard also had six rebounds and six steals.
It was the first Lompoc title in several years for the Dons (3-0). Dos Pueblos is 2-1.
The Dons next action is Wednesday as they play St. Joseph High in first-round action of the Gold Coast Classic at San Marcos High.
