Angel Varela’s incredible strike from a hard angle and beyond the 18 gave Carpinteria High’s boys soccer team the goal it needed to draw Royal 1-1.
The Highlanders scored in the first half and Varela’s strike allowed Carpinteria to pull even.
“Much of the credit goes to our goalkeeper Lalo Garcia that had several key saves, he kept us in the game and allowed us to draw,” reported Warriors head coach Leonardo Quintero.
