Ventura shrugs off San Marcos in league finale

Ventura pounded San Marcos 38-3 on Friday night at Larrabee Stadium in the Channel League finale for both teams.

A first-quarter field goal were the only points San Marcos could muster as the Royals closed out a 1-9 season. The Royals struggled on offense throughout their league season, averaging six points in the four games.

Ventura (6-4, 2-2) finishes third in the Channel League.

The Cougars’ senior running back Leo Camacho starred for Ventura with 170 yards rushing and two touchdowns.

Ventura led 24-3 at halftime and added touchdowns in the third and fourth quarters.
