Oak Park ends Carpinteria’s road magic


 

Oak Park took a Tri-Valley League win away from Carpinteria in the fourth quarter on Friday, ending the Warriors’ four-game road winning streak in a 28-21 decision.

Carpinteria led 14-13 at halftime but was outscored 15-7 in the final quarter after a scoreless third period for both teams.

The dagger was a 44-yard touchdown run by Kyle Espinoza with 2:16 remaining. Espinosa and Erik Tamiyasu scored two touchdowns each.

The Warriors were 4-0 this season on the road. Now Carpinteria finishes its year with a 5-5 record overall and a fourth place finish in the Tri-Valley League.

Oak Park finishes in third.
