Nevin, Norberg top SBCC’s five All-APC selections



SBCC linebacker Morgan Nevin, the No. 1 tackler in Southern Cal, and offensive lineman Wade Norberg were selected to the first team All-American Pacific Conference football squad.

Nevin, a 6-0 freshman from Truckee, had 118 tackles (45 solo), including 15 tackles for 45 yards in losses. His average of 11.8 tackles per game is No. 1 in Southern Cal and No. 3 in the state.

Norberg is a 6-6 sophomore tackle from South Lake Tahoe. He was one of six unanimous selections on the first-team offensive unit.

Three other Vaqueros made all-conference. Freshman quarterback Jarred Evans landed on the second-team offense while sophomore end Collin Powell and sophomore cornerback Delency Parham made second-team defense.

Evans completed 135 of 258 passes for 1,522 yards with 12 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He was also the second-leading rusher with 440 yards and 8 TDs.

Powell, a sophomore from Dos Pueblos High, made 72 tackles with three sacks and 5½ for loss. Parham had 46 tackles, two interceptions and led the state with 20 pass breakups.

The Vaqueros went 4-6 this season and finished fifth in conference with a 3-4 record.
