Local boys water polo teams will all begin their CIF conquests in the friendly confines of their own pools this week. Playoff brackets for the CIF-ss Ford Championships were released on Sunday morning.
San Marcos and Carpinteria, both 3rd place teams from their respective leagues, host wild-card round matchups on Tuesday.
Channel League champion Santa Barbara and runner-up Dos Pueblos will host wild-card winners in Thursday’s first round.
The Channel League schools compete in the Division 2 bracket while Carpinteria is in Division 6.
Of the four local teams, Santa Barbara High has the brightest outlook. The Dons are the second-overall seed in Division 2.
