A 5-0 fourth quarter catapulted Carpinteria past Cate in Friday’s Tri-Valley League matchup.
The Warriors won 12-6 in a game that was close through three quarters. The result secures Carpinteria’s first playoff appearance since 2007.
“This was our 3rd League win in a row and we needed them all to get to this point,” said Warriors head coach Bryan Swarm. “I’m very proud of our boys, they have showed alot of heart in the past week and never wavered from our goals.”
Ben O’Hara posted a game-high five goals for the Warriors.
Spencer Shapiro led Cate with three scores.
“It was a great game for Cate, with a total team effort and lots to be proud of,” reported Rams head coach Nathan Alldredge. “Hopefully the momentum will carry over into the season’s last match next Wednesday against Nordhoff.”
