SBCC golfers struggle at WSC meet No. 5

SBCC had a tough time on a long course in windy conditions on Wednesday, finishing fourth in the fifth WSC Women’s Golf Meet at Simi Hills GC.

Charlotte Skjonsby led the Vaqueros with a 91 and Jackie Ramirez shot 93. Kristin Grimes of Canyons was the medalist at even-par 72.

Glendale and Canyons tied for first at 321. Glendale won the tiebreaker to improve to 19-1. SBCC was fourth with 394 strokes and is 6-14 in WSC play.

“It was one of the longest courses we’ve played in a long time,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “It was over 6,000 yards and it was very windy.”

The Vaqueros will compete in WSC No. 6 on Monday at Brookside GC in Pasadena.
