SB County Super Seven Football Rankings

Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for prep football each Monday throughout the fall season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other and their opponents on a week-to-week basis throughout the season.

The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

1. Lompoc Braves (9-0, 5-0)

PREVIOUS GAME:?Lompoc 58, Nipomo 13

NEXT GAME:?vs Cabrillo (4-5, 3-2), Friday, 7 p.m.

NOTES:?The Braves are one win away from their third-straight Los Padres League title. Lompoc has won its five league games by an average of 43.4 points.

2.?Dos Pueblos Chargers (7-2, 3-0)

PREVIOUS GAME: Dos Pueblos 24, Buena 19

NEXT GAME:?vs. Santa Barbara (7-2, 2-1), at Scott O’Leary Stadium, Friday, 7 p.m.

NOTES:?Dos Pueblos’ rushing attack and defense have been winning games this season. None would be bigger than a victory in Friday’s matchup with Santa Barbara. DP’s two losses came to teams with a combined record of 16-2 this season.

3.?St. Joseph Knights (7-2, 5-1)

PREVIOUS GAME:??St. Joseph 49, Pioneer Valley 16

NEXT GAME: vs.?Bakersfield West (4-5, 2-2), Friday, 7 p.m.

NOTES: After a disapointing loss to Atascadero the week before, St. Joseph rebounded by scoring a season-high 49 points.??The Knights finished up their Pac-7 League schedule with a 5-1 record.

4. Bishop Diego Cardinals (9-0, 4-0)

PREVIOUS GAME:?Bishop Diego 14, Nordhoff 7

NEXT GAME:??at Mission Prep (8-0, 2-0), ?Friday, 7:30 p.m.

NOTES:??One of only 39 undefeated teams remaining in California, the Cardinals face another one in Friday’s matchup with Mission Prep. The Cardinals are coming off their strongest win of the season over previously undefeated Nordhoff.

5.?Santa Barbara Dons?(7-2, 2-1)

PREVIOUS GAME:?Santa Barbara 25, Ventura 17

NEXT GAME:?at Dos Pueblos (7-2, 3-0), 7 p.m., Friday

NOTES:?The Dons kept alive the chance to play for a piece of a Channel League title in their final game of the regular season. Santa Barbara topped Ventura thanks to several big plays by the offense and a 51-yard field goal by Matt Medina.

6.?Carpinteria Warriors (5-4, 1-2)

PREVIOUS GAME:?Carpinteria 35, Santa Paula 22

NEXT GAME: at Oak Park (4-5, 1-2), ?Friday, 7:30 p.m.

NOTES:?The Warriors improved to 4-1 in road games this season. A victory this week would make a strong argument for an at-large CIF bid for the Warriors.

7.?Righetti Warriors (2-7, 1-4)


NEXT GAME:?vs. Pioneer Valley (2-7, 0-5), Friday, 7 p.m.

NOTES:?The Warriors’ record isn’t pretty but Righetti has been competitive in every loss but one while playing a tough schedule.
