Melissa Jewkes tied for medalist honors, but San Marcos came up short against Buena in a Channel League girls golf match at Santa Barbara Golf Club on Thursday. The Royals lost 247-278
Jewkes shot a 45 and shared the low score with Buena’s Lizzie Barminski.
“Today was a rough round for us,” assistant coach Amato Recine said. “Our girls know what they are capable of shooting, but the scores for each came in higher today. Over the next week we’ll work on some things and hopefully we’ll get our scores back down into the 250s or lower.”
