San Marcos placed fifth at the San Diego Open boys water polo tournament over the weekend.
After falling to Santana 7-6, the Royals rebounded and beat Southridge 8-6 in the fifth-place game.
Shane Hauschild was named to the all-tournament first team, goalie Parker Woodward was a second-team pick and Emerson Pizzinat was named honorable mention.
The Royals also beat Bellevue (11-2), University City (20-4) and Rancho Buena Vista (14-12).
