Corona del Mar handed visiting San Marcos a 15-3 setback in Wednesday’s first round of the Division 1 CIF girls tennis playoff.
It was a match between league runner-ups, with the Sea Queens finishing second in the Pacific Coast League and the Royals second in the Channel League.
Corona del Mar advances to face fourth-seeded Peninsula in Friday’s second round.
San Marcos won all three of its sets in singles play. Jordan Lund claimed a set while Renee Handley won two of three.
