Blake Parrish scored on a breakway with a minute left in the second overtime and sixth-ranked Dos Pueblos held off Ventura on two possessions to escape with a 10-9 victory in a Channel League boys water polo match on Thursday.
“This is a little too much for me,” said DP coach Chris Parrish whose team was playing in its second overtime game in a week. The Chargers earlier beat San Marcos in OT.
In its fight to tie the score, Ventura drew an ejection in the final seconds. The Cougars got a good look but the shot went over the cage.
Blake Parrish and Graham Young each scored three goals for DP (6-8, 3-0), Grant Schroeder added two and Jake Griffin and Quinn Peacock one each. Goalie Emil Huebner made 10 saves.
