With 14 varsity runners resting for Friday’s Mt. SAC Invitational, Cate’s JV runners competed on Wednesday at Ojai Valley School in a Condor League non-scoring meet.
Emily Duong led the girls’ team with a 2nd place finish in 28:10. Jessica Liou was close behind in third place with a time of 28:39. Two other girls finished the race on a very challenging course — Summerlee Allen was 6th in 31:53 and Eunbie Coe 9th in 33:42.
Although no official scores were kept, Cate’s boys’ jv team finished just behind the varsity runners from Ojai Valley and Laguna. Humza Khurshid led the Rams by finishing in 8th place with a time of 21:55. Iman Fardghassemi was 11th in 22:40, followed by Daniel Yeom in 15th in 23:03 and Cole Brennan (16th, 23:12). Rei Imada (19th, 23:27), Noah Somaratne (20th, 23:58), and Djata Nyaawie (26th, 25:12) rounded out the top seven for the Rams.
