Carpinteria’s boys water polo team couldn’t put a dent in Oaks Christian’s undefeated Tri-Valley League record, falling to the visiting Lions 16-5 on Friday.
Neither team scored for the first four-minutes plus, but Oaks Christian came on strong with four goals in the final two minutes of the first quarter.
“The score does not necessarily show it, but our boys played with alot of heart and effort; we were just over matched today,” explained Warriors head coach Bryan Swarm.
The Lions are now 5-0 in league play while the Warriors fall to 3-2.
Chris Fiala led all scorers with five goals.
Ben O’Hara and Cole Gill led Carpinteria with two each.
The Warriors face Malibu next on Wednesday.
