Blake Parrish scored six of Dos Pueblos’ final seven goals in Thursday’s 15-12 victory over San Marcos in a Channel League match that was decided in overtime.
The Royals led late in the fourth quarter until Parrish scored twice in the final two minutes to force OT.
“After that we had a hard time continuing the intensity that we had in regulation into overtime,” Royals head coach Jeff Ashton said.
Parrish then scored four goals in extra time as DP outscored San Marcos 5-2. Parrish scored eight times total in the match.
Shane Hauschild led the Royals with four goals scored while a trio of players – Spencer Kemp, Kameron Bebb and Sean Nakano-West – scored twice.
“I was proud of the way our team played today,” Ashton said.
Scott Mahan recorded two goals for the Chargers and played great defense according to head coach Chris Parrish.
Dos Pueblos, the No. 6 team in CIF Division 2, is now 6-8, 2-0. San Marcos, the No. 9 team in Division 2, is 9-2, 0-1.
