Normans gain upper hand on Royals

San Marcos scored in each of the first two quarters at Beverly Hills on Friday, yet the Royals couldn’t keep up with the Normans in a 33-12 decision against the visitors.

Beverly Hills gained a 12-6 advantage by the end of the first quarter and built that lead to 26-12 at halftime. A fourth-quarter touchdown for the Normans finished the scoring.

Austin Towns caught a 55-yard touchdown pass from Chase Crossley and Montay Monroe scored two rushing touchdowns on seven carries.

Beverly Hills improves to 1-1 on the season and will travel to Peninsula for next week’s game.

San Marcos now stands at 0-3 heading into next week’s matchup with Hueneme.
