Gauchos to unveil black uniforms for showdown with UCLA

They might consider playing AC/DC’s “Back in Black” over the sound system when the third-ranked UCSB men’s soccer team takes Meredith Field at Harder Stadium on Friday to play No. 9 UCLA.

The Gauchos, who haven’t played at home in two weeks, will be wearing black uniforms for the nationally televised 6 p.m. game on the Fox Soccer Channel. To get a preview of the new uniforms, click here.

The last time UCLA visited Harder Stadium in 2010, a NCAA-record crowd of nearly 16,000 packed the house. Another huge crowd is expected, and UCSB officials encourage fans should plan on arriving early. The first 2,500 fans through the gates will receive a free foam finger, courtesy of the night’s game sponsor, Montecito Bank & Trust.

Gates open at 4:30 p.m.

Fans who normally use Storke Road to access campus are advised to use an alternate route. Due to a water main break, the southbound lane will be closed for the next three days and traffic will be redirected to Los Carneros.
