Fernandez, Zerrenner break long-standing Seaside Invitational records

Dos Pueblos’ Bryan Fernandez and Addi Zerrenner altered the record books of the Seaside Invitational on Friday as the pair each broke individual records that has stood for over 20 years.

Fernandez won the senior boys race in 14 minutes and five seconds, bettering Louie Quintana’s time of 14:14 from 1990.

Zerrenner claimed her record in the junior girls race with a time of 16:44. The previous meet record was 17:13 set in 1991.

Other Dos Pueblos highlights from Friday include Andrew McGuan’s 4th place result in the junior boys race. Max Davis placed 6th in the senior boys race and Ben York was 22nd.

For the girls, Elaine McClure came in 7th place in the sophomore girls competition followed by teammates KK Amble (31st) and Tatiana Schulep (35th).

In the senior race, Haley Peterson ran a personal best of 19:36 for 48th.
