Dos Pueblos’ girls golf team secured a 227-263 Channel League win over San Marcos on Tuesday, as freshman Mika Henrickson posted a career-low score to earn medalist honors for the Chargers.
Henrickson’s 40 was four strokes better than San Marcos’ low score of 44 from Melissa Jewkes.
The match was played at Santa Barbara Golf Club using the back nine holes, with par at 35.
All five Dos Pueblos scores came in under 50. Miraya Ramirez had DP’s second-best round with a 45.
“Dos Pueblos is always a tough match and I was happy with our overall
team score,” noted Royals head coach Shawn Ricci.
The Royals fall to 0-1 in league play while Dos Pueblos improves to 2-0.
