The latest CIF polls released on Monday makes Friday’s Lompoc vs. Dos Pueblos football game a battle of top-10 teams from the Western Division.
It was already going to be a meeting of undefeated teams as both schools hold a 3-0 record.
But Dos Pueblos entered the division’s top 10 for the first time this season at No. 10 on Monday.
Friday’s game begins at 7 p.m. at Dos Pueblos’ Scott O’Leary Stadium.
Lompoc, winners of 22 straight, are the No. 2 team in the division behind Serra. One of those 22 wins was a 23-0 victory over DP in both schools’ fourth game last year.
The 3-0 start is Dos Pueblos’ best since 2001. The Chargers defeated Cabrillo of Lompoc on Friday 25-8.
