Santa Barbara High’s boys water polo began its Channel League season on Tuesday with a 12-7 victory over Ventura.
The Dons jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and didn’t slow down until the fourth quarter. Santa Barbara led 12-3 entering the final period.
Nate Hunter posted a team-high four goals while Connor McManigal added three. Gio Goggia stopped six shots in the first half including a block on a penalty shot as the Dons defense limited Ventura to two goals through the first two quarters.
The Dons are off the rest of the week, returning to competition for their next Channel League contest next Tuesday at Buena.
