Presidio Sports will release the Santa Barbara County Super Seven for prep football each Monday throughout the fall season. It is a way for you to see how our County teams stack up against each other and their opponents on a week-to-week basis throughout the season.
The rankings are not based on a vote, but determined by considering a combination of results, strength of schedule, common opponents, momentum, and a variety of other factors.

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY SUPER SEVEN (8/27/2012)
1) Lompoc Braves (1-0; vs. Frontier (1-0)) ? The Braves, ranked No. 21 in California by MaxPreps and No. 2 in CIF-ss Western Division to start the season, won for the 21st straight time on Friday without leaving a shadow of a doubt. The winning streak dates back to a loss to Templeton on October 29, 2010. The 31-0 rout of Arroyo Grande increased their MaxPreps ranking to No. 16.?Lavon Coleman found the endzone twice as Lompoc scored all of its four touchdowns on the ground. The Braves will play out of the Southern Section in their next game against Bakersfield’s Frontier High School.
2) Righetti Warriors (0-1; vs. Cabrillo (1-0))?? Despite losing the season opener to Villa Park 28-21, the Warriors hold on to their spot as the No. 2 team in the county. Villa Park is one of the top teams in the Southwest Division and the Warriors, who held a 21-14 lead going into the 4th quarter, could just as easily be 1-0. The upcoming matchup with Cabrillo will go a long ways in understanding how these two North-County powerhouses stack up.
3) Santa Barbara Dons (1-0; at Beverly Hills (0-0)) ? The Dons escaped their Week Zero matchup with St. Joseph with a dramatic 25-22 victory at home. Santa Barbara showed its experience and composure by coming through with big plays in clutch situations. Santa Barbara scored the game-winning touchdown with 1:15 remaining and needed a defensive stop on the last play of the game to secure the victory. [VIDEO] The Dons travel to Beverly Hills for the Normans’ season opener on Friday.
4) Cabrillo Conquistadores (1-0; at Righetti (0-1)) ? Cabrillo won its opener over San Marcos 27-14 by leaning heavily on the rushing attack with quarterback Alex Strub working through an arm injury. The Conquistadores were able to break off scoring runs of 63, 34, and 30 yards from three different backs.
5) Dos Pueblos Chargers (1-0; at San Luis Obispo(0-1)) ? The Dos Pueblos defense was as good as advertised in Friday’s season opener. The Chargers shut out the visiting Santa Ynez Pirates and the defense even posted points with a first-half safety. The Chargers will be on the road for the first time this coming Friday in a non-league game at San Luis Obispo. The Tigers lost their opener 21-20 to Garces.
6) Bishop Diego Cardinals (1-0; vs. Santa Ynez (0-1) ? Bishop Diego absolutely pummelled Santa Maria in the opener 54-3. The Cardinals are ranked No. 2 in the Northwest Division and helped cement their status as the team to beat this year in the Tri-Valley League.
7) San Marcos Royals (0-1; vs. Rio Mesa (0-0))?? The Royals lost their opener 27-14 to Cabrillo but showed an ability to move the ball on offense through the air. San Marcos did not committ a turnover and looks to be much improved under new head coach Anthony Linebaugh following last year’s 1-9 season.
