Kami Craig returned to Santa Barbara on Monday, less than two weeks after making Olympic history as part of the first United States team to win a gold medal in water polo.
Craig won two CIF championships at Santa Barbara High School before playing collegiately at USC. The two-time Olympian currently lives in Long Beach.
“I’m incredibly proud to come back to Santa Barbara County, come back to Santa Barbara High and share the experience, share my story, share my medal. This is kind of where it all started,” Craig said on the pool deck of her high school alma mater.
In her talk with Presidio Sports, Craig, 25, says her post-Olympic plans include training to compete in next year’s World Championships in Barcelona.
