The San Luis Obispo Blues gained control of first place in the California Collegiate League with a mid-week sweep of the Santa Barbara Foresters, as the Blues started the week a half a game behind Santa Barbara but sits 2 1/2 games up as of Friday.
The Blues recorded victories of 5-3, 10-9 and 8-7 and became the only team to sweep the Foresters this season. The sweep, which included a 13-inning marathon on Wednesday, improved the Blues’ record against Santa Babara to 5-1 this season.
The Foresters have nine games remaining on their regular season schedule, six of them league games. Santa Barbara is 14-10 while San Luis Obispo is 17-8.
