Goleta Valley South’s 9/10 U10 All-Stars used 18 hits to defeat Santa Paula 13-2 on Saturday in a game that was called after four innings.
Jacob Galindo and Jack Winterbauer led the team with three hits each. Winterbauer added four RBIs. Galindo, Diego Sandoval and Jackson Haskell all connected for ground rule doubles that cleared the outfield fence.
On the mound, Brent Hyman, Nate Feldhaus and Nico Martinez held Santa Paula to four hits.
The pitchers enjoyed plenty of run support with six runs in the first inning.
“The boys came out on fire with the bats, smashing four doubles and a triple on the day,” commented manager Tony Sandoval.
Goleta Valley South plays again on Monday against Montalvo.
