Dons, Rams among 146 Southern Section champions

Santa Barbara High’s girls tennis team and Cate School’s boys soccer team won Southern Section CIF Divisional Championships this year, claiming a small share of the 146 titles won during the 2011-2012 school year.

In November, Santa Barbara High’s girls tennis was able to take the Division II title after a 16-2 victory over Newport Harbor in the championship match at the Claremont Tennis Club.

In March, Cate boys soccer defeated University Prep for?the Southern Section?s Division 7 championship. The Rams were able to pull out the win with a final score of 4-1.

Several other local teams made it deep into the playoffs, including CIF finalists Providence Hall’s girls Basketball. Dos Pueblos girls volleyball, Bishop Diego football and Carpinteria softball were able to advance to semifinal play.
