Oaks Christian breaks loose from Warriors

Oaks Christian scored a season-high 20 runs in Friday’s 20-0 Tri-Valley League win over Carpinteria.

After the two teams battled to an extra-inning 2-1 decision on Wednesday, the Lions had little problem scoring runs in this one. Oaks Christian totaled 17 hits, including home runs from Nathaniel Palace and Riley Helland.

The Warriors had exhausted much of their pitching on Wednesday and used four pitchers on Friday to split up the work.

The result ups Oaks Christian’s league record to 6-4 while the Warriors fall to 4-6. Carpinteria plays Malibu twice to finish the season while the Lions take on league-leading St. Bonaventure.
