UCSB moves Tuesday game up to 2 p.m.

Throwback Tuesdays continue when the Gauchos host Cal Poly in a non-conference game on Tuesday with first pitch now scheduled at 2 p.m.

All Tuesday home games this season are titled Throwback Tuesdays with lower ticket prices and discounted merchandise – especially on throwback jerseys! Every Tuesday home game at Caesar Uyesaka Stadium will honor a UCSB team from the past and this Tuesday will honor the 2001 team, which went 40-17 and played in a Regional at Notre Dame.

Music from 2001 will be played all game long and there will be numerous chances for fans to win prizes with trivia based on 2001 facts and events.

The 2001 Gauchos featured three future Major League Baseball players in Skip Schumaker, Ryan Spilborghs and Virgil Vasquez. That team had a pair of All-Americans in Vasquez and James Garcia as well as five First Team All-Big West players. The Gauchos featured six players who finished in the Big West’s top-10 in batting average as Schumaker hit .400 and six others finished with batting averages over .300.
