SBCC beats Glendale 7-2

Miles Seemann won his match at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-3 on Thursday, sparking SBCC to a 7-2 victory at Glendale in its WSC men‘s tennis finale. Santa Barbara, playing its first match in 16 days, took the first five singles points to win the “Battle of the Vaqueros.”

Seemann, a freshman from Santa Ynez High, improved to 9-0 in singles. He and Joshua Crisp-Jones lost 8-3 for their first setback in nine doubles matches.
The Vaqueros (6-3, 5-3) tied for second in conference. They suffered two close 5-4 losses to Ventura, which went 8-0 in WSC play.

“The guys played well on the road after a solid week of practice,” said coach Ryan Heinberg.

SBCC will host Grossmont on Friday at 12:30 p.m.
