Hutchinson works plate and mound for Warriors win

Marcus Hutchinson pitched six innings and reached base three times to help the Carpinteria baseball team defeat Grace Brethren 6-3 on Tuesday.

Hutchinson also scored twice and had an RBI in the Warriors’ monster fourth inning. The team scored four runs and sent 10 batter to the plate.

Derrick Moore also had an excellent day batting and finished with two hits and three RBIs. Anthony Rodriguez was another Warrior with multiple hits and recorded two base knocks and two runs scored.

Colton Rubio came in for the seventh inning to close them game and was described as a “force to be reckoned with out of the bullpen” by Carpinteria coach Pat Cooney.

The Warrios (9-8 overall, 4-3 Tri-Valley League) will play Grace Brethren again on Friday at home.
