Cornejo, Drain beat Lions in 300-meter hurdles

David Cornejo and Kelsey Drain captured the 300-meter hurdles for Carpinteria’s track & field team in Wednesday’s Tri-Valley League meet with Oaks Christian, but the Lions were still able to record victories in both boys and girls.

The boys competition was closer with Oaks Christian winning 79-55.

The Warrior boys did well in the field events, winning five of six. Trevon Guevara won the triple jump, Noah Woo the high jump, Andrew Hack the pole vault, and Xavier De Alba the discus and shotput. Cornejo won the hurdles in a time of 41.98.

Drain and discus thrower Linda Buchmiller were the Warriors’ only female event winners.
