Chargers handle Santa Ynez with ease

Dos Pueblos mixed up its lineup in a 16-2 non-league win over Santa Ynez on Tuesday, still dominating in both singles and doubles.

Chargers head coach Liz Frech gave Caleb Franzen, who normally starts in doubles, a spot in the singles lineup. Franzen responded with three set wins. Greg Steigerwald also swept three sets as Dos Pueblos won 8-of-9 singles sets overall.

The Chargers took 8-of-9 in doubles as well, led by Jake Roberts and Patrick Corpuz’s three-set sweep. Corpuz was playing doubles but normally plays singles for the Chargers. The starting tandems of Mason Casady-Sam Boulanger and Joshua Wang-Andrew Tufenkian were undefeated at 4-0.

The non-league victory improves Dos Pueblos to 9-2. Santa Ynez lost just its fourth match of the season and stands at 11-4.
