Carpinteria erupted for five runs in the first inning and four Warrior pitchers combined on a two-hitter in a 12-1 non-league baseball win over Thacher on Tuesday.
Colton Rubio and Kevin Stein each had two hits and Marcus Hutchinson reached base four times with a hit and three walks. He also had two steals and scored three runs. Rubio stole two bases, scored two runs and drove in one, and Stein had two RBIs and scored a run.
Rubio struck out six Toads in two innings and picked up the victory, improving to 5-1.
Carpinteria (6-5) plays at Nipomo on Saturday.
