Add another shutout for Maldonado, Warriors

Catalina Maldonado and the Carpinteria Warriors extended their scoreless streak to 28 innings in Thursday’s 4-0 shutout of Santa Clara.

It was the Warriors’ fourth straight shutout as a team.

The Warriors posted two runs on the scoreboard in the first inning. It took five hits to produce the runs, with big hits coming from Elyse Rodriguez and Elena Schneider.

Carmen Campi was 3-for-3 in the game and scored three of Carpinteria’s four runs. Maldonado aided the offense by going 2-for-4. Tatiana Verdugo connected for an RBI-double in the seventh inning.

“The last four games we’ve been focused and playing good softball,” said Warriors head coach Henry Rodriguez.
