Vaqueros stay sharp during busy week

SBCC recorded its third sweep in four days on Friday, blanking San Diego Mesa 9-0 in a men’s tennis match at Pershing Park. The Vaqueros are 4-1 on the year.

“We had three tight matches and we pulled them all out,” said coach Ryan Heinberg. “The guys are playing very well. They battled hard in doubles, even though we had already clinched the win in singles.”

Daniel Francisco won 7-6 (2), 6-4 at No. 3 singles and Sean Moazezi prevailed by the exact same score at No. 6. Troy Akin and Robert Herr won No. 2 doubles 9-8 with an 8-6 victory in the tiebreaker.

The Vaqueros travel to L.A. Pierce on Thursday.
