Royals squeak by Ventura in tiebreaker

The San Marcos boys tennis team played Ventura to a 9-9 draw, but the Royals took 76 points to the Cougars’ 70 and won the match.

“Ventura’s one and two doubles teams were very aggressive serving and returning and we struggled a bit to match their aggression,” head coach Jarrod Bradley said. “Ultimately, we found just enough to get it done.”

Petar Jivkov continued his dominant season and swept his opponents again. Jivkov is a combine 27-0 in his games this season.

San Marcos (7-2 overall, 2-0 Channel League) will not play until after spring break, returning to action on April 4 against Santa Barbara at home.
