Owls break into win column with sweep of twin-bill

J.T. Aubery was a force at the net and on defense, leading Laguna Blanca’s boys volleyball team to its first two wins of the season on Thursday.

In a marathon evening, Laguna Blanca beat Orcutt Academy and Mission Prep in five sets in San Luis Obispo. The Owls rallied past Orcutt Academy 16-25, 18-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-12 and then outlasted Mission Prep 25-19, 27-25, 20-25, 19-25, 15-13.

Aubery had 15 kills and 11 digs in the comeback over Orcutt Academy, and the Owls got good contributions from Andrew McCaffery (6 kills), Andrew Vignolo (5 kills), Colton Johnson (5 kills) and Dalton Smith (5 kills).

Against Mission Prep, Aubery led the way with 11 kills, 17 digs and four aces. Johnson added seven kills.

Laguna is 2-3 and returns to action Tuesday against Providence Hall.
