Harris runs shutout streak to 25 innings in DP sweep

Hannah Harris continued to dominate hitters, and pitched Dos Pueblos to the consolation championship at the Simi Valley Tournament on Saturday.

Harris, last year’s CIF Division 4 Player of the Year, threw a three-hit 4-0 shutout against Arroyo Grande and pitched five-innings of shutout ball in a 4-1 victory over Paso Robles. She has not allowed a run in 25 innings.

Harris also has been nails with the bat. She went 3-for-3 with a double in the win over Arroyo Grande and had two hits against Paso Robles.

Kai Uyesaka went 2-for-2 and executed a perfect sacrifice bunt in the win over Arroyo Grande.

The Chargers started the game minus three junior starters who were taking their SAT tests, coach Donn Roberts said. “We started the game with four freshmen and still managed the win.

In the Paso Robles game, Chloe Madill hit a solo home run and had a RBI double, and Courtney Linhares went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and scored a run.

Freshman Veronika Gulvin came in to pitch in the fourth and got the first two hitters out in the inning, but DP made an error and the Bearcats got back to back hits to score a run. Roberts put Harris back in to stop the threat and close out the game in the fifth.

Dos Pueblos hosts Righetti on Tuesday.
