Fasth’s four wins not enough for Dons

Collin Fasth won four events in Santa Barbara High’s track meet against Buena, but the boys team was edged out 65-62 by the Bulldogs, while the girls lost 85-41.

Fasth set personal bests in the 200 meters with a time of 23.33 seconds and the 400 meters (52.52). He also helped the relay teams win for both distances.

Other highlights in the boys meet included Bradford Jellison’s win in the 100 meters (11.41) and second-place finish in the 200 meters (23.86) behind Fasth. The Dons also swept the shot put with Jalen Commadore, Jesse Alcantar and Endy Rangel taking first, second and third place, respectively.

In the girls meet, Brianna Weaks, Madison Harry, Madison Carlentine and Kelli Martindale won the 4×100 meters despite all four athletes being sophomores. Martindale also won the triple jump with a distance of 32’2.75″.

Santa Barbara (0-3 boys, 0-3 girls) will compete next on Saturday in the Easter Relays at SBCC.
