Carpinteria making progress after third match

Ben Murray won two sets at No. 3 singles for Carpinteria in a 15-3 non-league loss to Pacifica on Wednesday.

“He played really well and with a lot more patience,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “Even the Pacifica coach commented on his strong effort.”

Bryant said Justin Nathanson and Nathaniel Nunes are starting to turn the corner after playing close sets in singles.

The doubles team of Greg Norton and Tim Goulart picked up the third point for the Warriors beating the # 3 doubles team.

“All in all it was a much better match than the one played two days ago against Malibu. The boys showed a lot of heart and kept fighting all day,” said Bryant.

Carpinteria (0-3) will look for its first win on Friday at home against Hart.
