Warriors put in solid effort, beat Grace Brethren

Carpinteria got balanced scoring and played a solid game in beating Grace Brethren 59-51 on Senior Night.

Marcus Hutchinson scored 16 points, Kyle Millhollin 15 and Andrew Sova 12 for the Warriors, who overcame and 13-7 deficit in the first quarter.

“They came in and made a lot of shots,” Carpinteria coach Johnny Ward said. “We adjusted our defense and got rolling. We shot the ball really well and we got to the line 28 times.”

Ward said he got strong play from his role players: Jordan Robinson, Millhollin, Duncan Gordon and Seamus Figueras.

“This was a big win going into the Bishop game and it was a big win for our seniors.”

Carpinteria (3-15, 2-6) plays at Bishop Diego on Friday night.
