Rachel Smith scored the lone goal in Thursday’s game at Ventura, and the Dos Pueblos High girls soccer team won 1-0.
The goal came at the start of the second half when Weslea Gosnell-Greyson found Natalie Klapp. Klapp then hit Smith who put the ball in the back of the net to give the Chargers the lead.
Gosnell-Greyson and fellow freshman Ady Willett were called up to varsity and made major contributions in the match.
Dos Pueblos (5-1 Channel League) will play next at home on Tuesday against Santa Barbara.
